State Rep. Scott Wiggam (R-Wayne County) has issued the following statement:

“Today, the Ohio House of Representatives unanimously voted to remove the role of Speaker of the House from Representative Larry Householder. With Householder’s ongoing serious corruption allegations and a federal grand jury indictment, the Majority Caucus moved swiftly and elected Bob Cupp as the new Speaker of the House. Speaker Cupp, a former Ohio Supreme Court Justice, brings legislative and judicial experience to this leadership position. Furthermore, Speaker Cupp is someone who will restore public faith in this chamber through his unquestionable honor and integrity.

“I look forward to working with Speaker Cupp on the many challenges that affect Ohioans.”
