Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) has released the following statement regarding Governor DeWine’s veto of Sub. House Bill 68:

“It is disappointing that the Governor vetoed House Bill 68, the SAFE Act and Save Women’s Sports.  The bill sponsors, and The House, have dedicated nearly three years to get the bill right — to empower parents and protect children. It was passed by veto-proof majorities in each chamber. We will certainly discuss as a caucus and take the appropriate next steps.”

 
 
Ghanbari Announces More than $1.1 Million in Funding for Wood County

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) announced Thursday more than $1.1 million has been awarded to projects in Wood County, including improvements to public safety and library facilities at Bowling Green State University, improvements to the Ohio National Guard’s Walbridge Armory, and the Chessie Circle Trail Project. The State Controlling Board approved the measure during Monday’s meeting.

 
 
Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari Honors Chancellor Randy Gardner

BOWLING GREEN — State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg), recognized retiring Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner with a resolution from the Ohio House of Representatives Tuesday during halftime of the Bowling Green State University versus South Carolina Women’s Basketball game in front of one of the largest crowds in Stroh Center history. Gardner served as the department’s 10th chancellor.

House Passes Legislation to Implement Cost-Sharing Requirement Restrictions to Combat the Opioid Epidemic

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives yesterday passed House Bill 141, legislation to place cost-sharing requirement restrictions on occupational therapy, physical therapy, and chiropractor services. The measure is sponsored by State Reps. Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) and Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana County).
