Rep. Brent Releases Statement After Gov. DeWine Tests Positive for COVID-19
COLUMBUS— State Representative Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) issued a statement after Gov. DeWine recently tested positive for COVID-19.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Gov. DeWine during this time. There needs to be a state-wide campaign encouraging not only the use of face masks, but the practice of proper hand hygiene, social distancing, and disinfection of surfaces. Focusing on just one preventative measure is not enough to slow down or eliminate the spread of COVID-19,” says Rep. Brent. “We, as a state, need to provide FREE or subsidized pricing for masks for at-risk communities and emphasize hand hygiene education when entering any businesses, hospitals and schools.”
Rep. Brent additionally stated the need to improve the unemployment process and enact an eviction moratorium for families. She believes the state needs to create more housing resources to prevent eviction and foreclosure of homes for hardworking Ohioans during the pandemic.
