Gayle Manning News

State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) has issued the following statement:

“Today, the Ohio House took action and another step against the unethical activities regarding the investigation against the Speaker of the House. Whether or not the Speaker is guilty, in order to restore the public’s trust to our institution, I voted today to support revoking the leadership role of Larry Householder as Speaker of the House.

“For the years I have had the opportunity to serve as a public official, I have always considered it as an honor and a privilege, not a right. I am still appalled at the allegations the individuals within this case have been accused of, as it surrounds a public official and others misusing power and using dark money to pass legislation within the Statehouse – this should never happen.

“While the Speaker refused to resign, the Ohio House took action today to relinquish him of the power he held. Now it is time to invoke change and bring back the trust between this Legislature and Ohioans. This is not something that will happen overnight, but rather a relationship that will need to be rebuilt. It’s time to move forward and focus on finding solutions that will rectify the problems that allowed this corruption to take place, simultaneously, I plan to continue serving the people of the 55th District and address their top concerns and issues as we look to a brighter future for Ohio.”
