State Rep. Dr. Beth Liston (D-Dublin) today joined House Democrats at a Statehouse press conference to introduce legislation that would incorporate into Ohio law patient protections in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including coverage for those with pre-existing conditions.

“People are afraid of losing health insurance for their loved ones with pre-existing conditions,” said Rep. Liston. “We must do more to ensure Ohioans can feel safe and secure at home. This legislation to protect Ohio’s children and families is the right thing to do.”

The legislation comes as a ruling in Texas v. U.S. by the Federal 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is pending—a decision that could threaten the healthcare coverage of millions of Ohioans with pre-existing conditions if the ACA is overturned.

Rep. Liston represents Ohio’s 21st House District, which includes Dublin, Worthington and parts of Northwest Franklin County.
